Crockpot Oatmeal

Directly from the Pin: Throw 2 sliced apples, 1/3 cup brown sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon in the bottom of the crock pot. Pour 2 cups of oatmeal and 4 cups of water on top. Do NOT stir. Cook overnight for 8 – 9 hours on low. Cozy winter breakfast!

I think it makes a great breakfast any day of the week. Also, if you are the only one in the house that eats oatmeal or breakfast, you get a few meals out of it!  Next time I’d like to try peaches or strawberries… Yum!!!

  1. I tried these and it is easy to do and tastes really good you will just need to add sugar to your liking once you are ready to serve.

  2. Does it matter if its Minute Oats or Old Fashioned? I’m trying this tonight with some fresh peaches I have, and plan to throw in a few chopped pecans as well!

  4. Made this last night and this morning woke up to heaven in my crockpot! I doubled the recipe and took it to work to share. Mmmm Super easy to make and oh so very warm and yummy the next morning when you awake.

  5. Am I the only one who thought this was a slimy, tasteless mess? Threw half of it out, AND still had the burnt on mess to deal with for days. Need to un-pin this one.

    • It is a little light on the sugar, but I’m trying to cut back on sugars wherever I can. Also, I think the type of Apple you use makes a big difference.
      Can’t help you with the burnt… Haven’t had that problem with my crockpot meals yet.

    • Thank you for posting. I just read that if you put a softner sheet in your crock pot with water, the burnt goo should just wipe away after a couple of hours of soaking. I will keep looking for another recipe.

  6. I was so looking forward to eating this, but was sooo disappointed. It was slimy, kind of bland and tasteless. I even added a vanilla bean and pecans. I couldn’t eat more than one bite. 😦

  7. This was pretty good. The edges get a little dryer looking, and I think that is what people mean by “burnt”. We actually liked that. It’s not very sweet, so if you like sweet then add sugar before serving. Great breakfast for a cold morning 🙂 Thanks for sharing!!!

  8. I am trying this tonight. However when I make oatmeal I always use milk instead of water, bc it makes it more flavorful. Hope this works ok in crockpot.

  9. Milk works great I replaced 2 cups of water w almond milk added 1 tsp of Madagascar Vanilla and 2 pads of butter and a handful go craisins. Also just spray pot w cooking spray before adding ingredients no sticking. This is great cold too it taste like bread pudding or apple crisp!
